Beat the depression Blues

Depression is one of the most common problems people experience today, have you ever considered exercise as part of your treatment? Studies world wide  have shown that exercise has a helpful effect in  treating  depression because it:

  • Increases your sense of mastery, which can help for people who don’t feel in control of their lives and moods
  • Increases self-esteem and self awareness
  • provides a period of focus and the  joy of being in the moment rather than feeding your despair.
  • Improves your health and body, which can help lift your mood
  • Helps you get rid of built-up  tension that is a bi product of the stresses and frustrations created by our misinterpretation  of the positive things our daily challenges bring.
  • Helps you sleep better,  where insomnia has been found  to be a symptom of depression

It may seem impossible to get moving when you feel depressed but that’s exactly what you have to do. No matter how tired you feel, getting up and moving around can bring some immediate relief to your symptoms and getting in some  exercise is an excellent way to work off some of created stresses that  you may  carry around in this state.

Thus exercise coupled with the proper medical attention is a great formula for working through times when it seems we have  no clear  vision  of how  powerful and special we really are.
